Naturopathy is a distinct and separate paradigm in the art of healing. It emphasizes education, prevention, and vitalization as a holistic approach to address the underlying cause of dis-ease. Further, it aims to restore optimal health by treating the whole person, in the least invasive way possible, through engagement of each individual’s intrinsic self-healing capacity. Our Boulder Naturopath practice integrates the art of timeless traditional wisdom with modern scientific advancements in clinical practice to provide true, individualized, patient-centered healthcare.
Naturopathic Evaluation and Diagnostic Modalities
Food Intolerance Evaluation
Intolerance to a particular food group or combination of foods inhibits the body’s ability to effectively digest, absorb and assimilate nutrients. This results in digestive irritation, diminished energy and the formation of toxic byproducts that lead to systemic inflammation and imbalance.
Heart Sound Analysis
The heart is the most essential, hardest working organ in the body, and so the body prioritizes the heart when available nutrients are limited. Therefore, by mapping the sounds produced by the heart’s movement we are able to assess the body’s nutritional status and make appropriate recommendations.
Vitality Assessment
The quality of one’s blood and pulse at the wrist’s radial artery are directly correlated to their vitality. By monitoring changes in quality and pulse we are able to assess one’s current vitality and any area’s of weakness, as well as monitor their body’s response to the treatment plan.
Iridology (Iris Exam)
The reflexion between the iris of the eye and the body’s organs, glands, and tissues has been studied for centuries. Although not used as a diagnostic method, the iris offers insight into potential irritations, inflammations, and weaknesses of the body’s varied systems.
Reflex Point Evaluation
Reflex maps on the eyes, tongue, and pulse, and trigger points on the hands, feet, and torso, correspond to various organs, glands, and tissue systems of the body. They are used both diagnostically and therapeutically to assess and address physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual imbalance.
